The “19 Minute” Campaign

With our recent experience with Covid-19 and our “shelter-in-place”, I felt like I had to do more with my business and help raise funds for a non-profit that I am very close to, Meals on Wheels Chicago (MoWC). Although I’ve always donated 25% of my fee for full sessions to MoWC, but frankly, it wasn’t enough. Especially knowing they added over 10,000 more seniors to their program since the end of March of 2020 without any additional funding. I asked myself, what can I do?

Between the months of April and May of 2020, I shifted my business model from full sessions to “19-minute” sessions per family, at $100 each and 100% of the proceeds will go to MoWC. During that time, I did over 60 sessions and raised over $7,000. The wonderful part was many of the families donated a little more than the ask, which is incredible. We were able to provide 2,000 meals for our homebound seniors and those with disabilities in the Chicagoland area. The amount raised exceeded my expectations.

Since the launch of Cecily George Photography back in May 2017, over $45,000 has been donated to Meals on Wheels Chicago. None of this is possible without the wonderful families who have hired me to take their family photos. Last but not least, none of this would be possible without the incredible support of my husband, Jim Clifton. He is the one who takes care of me and knows how important it is to help others.

Here is a glimpse of the people who supported me during this adventure. I grabbed one shot per session and wanted to showcase them all and thank them. Thank you. Thank you for supporting this campaign and helping Meals on Wheels Chicago.
